FIFO 2016 List of winners
During the official ceremony that happened in the Big Theater of the ‘Maison de la Culture’ on the 05th of february, the FIFO international Jury, led by Mr Abderrahmane SISSAKO, has awarded :
THE GRAND PRIZE OF THE JURY FIFO – FRANCE TELEVISIONS: ANOTHER COUNTRY directed by Molly Reynolds and produced by Peter Djigirr, Rolf De Heer et Molly Reynolds, that wins a prize of 500 000 XPF, offered by the Organizing committee.
1st SPECIAL PRIZE OF THE JURY : THE GROUND WE WON directed by Christopher Pryor and produced by Deer Heart Films Ltd that wins a prize of 300 000 XPF, offered by the Organizing committee.
2nd SPECIAL PRIZE OF THE JURY : THE PRICE OF PEACE directed by Kim Webby and produced by Christina Miligan, Roger Grant et Kim Webby that wins a prize of 300 000 XPF, offered by the Organizing committee.
3rd SPECIAL PRIZE OF THE JURY : TUPAIA directed by Lala Rolls and produced by Oceania Film, Island Film Production et Polynésie 1ère that wins a prize of 300 000 XPF.
The jury also wanted to award a Special Mention to the documentary Le salaire des profondeurs, directed by Dominique Roberjot and Christine della-Maggiora and produced by Latitude 21 Pacific, Nouvelle Calédonie 1ère and France Télévisions. An account revealing the history of hundreds of fishermen in Fiji, ‘a cry’ that must be heard.
The public has awarded his favourite documentary :
THE PUBLIC’S CHOICE AWARD : HIP HOP-ERATION directed by Bryan Evans and produced by Alex Lee et Paula Jones, that wins a prize of 300 000 XPF. This prize is offered by the City Hall of Papeete.
He also awarded
THE BEST SHORT FILM : FIXED directed by Codey Wilson et Burleigh Smith and produced by Rob Viney et Burleigh Smith, that wins a prize of 100 000 XPF. This prize is offered by the Organizing committee.
THE PRIZE OF WRITING MARATHON : Sophie BLANC, she wins a plane ticket offered by Air Tahiti Nui.
