The Caledonian war
NOUVELLE-CALÉDONIE – 2012
Néo Productions / Canal + Calédonie / Grand Angle Production
This is the story of New Caledonia from 1941 to 1950 and its involvement in the Second World War. In their fight against Japan that conquered a large part of the Pacific, the Americans took control of the economy of the French colony, built airports, camps for their soldiers, and changed it into a military rear base by modernising it left and right. Many diverse witnesses from this period tell us their story illustrated by many archive documents.
