The 12th Oceanian International Documentary Film Festival will start this 31st January 2015. Since its creation in 2004, it is a must-see documentary film festival in South Pacific.

This year, the french director Jan Kounen (Dobermann, 99 francs, Blueberry : l’expérience secrète) will manage the jury made of personalities from the cultural and audiovisual international world.

 

2015 EDITION

15 movies from Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea or Timor Leste will compete from the « Grand Prix FIFO – France Télévisions » and 3 Jury’s special prizes. All documentaries will compete for the Public Prize.

Aboriginal Black Panther’s revelations at New York, the secret story of the Easter Island, homosexuality in the world of surf, the Timor Leste’s mermaids or the polynesian tattoo… There are some of the discoveries stocking at the FIFO 2015.
This year, the festival highlights on the oceanian girls in strong portraits, singular paths.

For this 12th edition, the  Oceanian International Documentary Film Festival (FIFO), crossing between visions and oceanian cultures, will offer new rendez-vous.

For the great public

Ahead of the documentary competition, the festival offer to public his off program around audiovisual, with documentaries, fiction and short films.

Opening the festival, FIFO will offer carte blanche to the DOC EDGE, new-zealand documentary festival which 10th edition will take place at Auckland the May 21st and at Wellington from the June 3rd to 14th 2015

The traditionnal and most anticipated « Short film Night » come back for his 6th edition in her new formula which will allow to discover a larger number of short films

The Concorde Theaters will welcome the public for a night dedicated to Jan Kounen, with the projection of « D’autres mondes et L’histoire de Panshin Beka »

Another news this year. A brand new meeting way dedivated below documentaries, called « Inside the doc ». Led by driven people, those meetings with directors, productors or documentaries heroes will allow to public to discover behind the scenes, since the subject’s choice until the result of the project

This 12th edition seems at last particularily festive, with new workshops such as Image Editing Workshop and Ipad Shooting and Editing Workshop. An offer which is adding to the must-watch rendez-vous of the festival : Script Writing , Stop Motion and Go Pro Shooting 

The stands’ organizers and partners will be equally part of the highlights of this FIFO. The stand « Si le FIFO m’était conté… », introduced by OPT, will purpose 13 favorites movies of our historical partner. From the « Fun Zone » to the simulation on the stand of « Polynésie 1ère », move on to the other side of the audiovisual universe !

For the professionnals

The FIFO inaugurate then this year a Documentary Market made by a 400 movies background entirely dedicated to the Oceania in order to federate all necessary energies to the Audiovisual Industry’s development in the South Pacific

 A Pitch dating, led by the ATPA (Professionnal Audiovisual Tahitian Association), will offer the opportunity to the project carriers, to sit down 10 minutes with distributors, broadcasters and producers to sell their ideas.

 The SCAN (Support to Audiovisual and Digital Creation), new aid device, will be introduced to the professionnals on the Digital Economy Branch.

In partnership with France Télévisions, FIFO offer equally the 9th edition of the Oceanian TV meeting, contributing to the introduction of commune projects and the creation of a regional synergy.

Eric Scherer directeur de la prospective, de la stratégie numérique et des relations internationales à France Télévisions, y animera une table ronde sur la télévision connectée.

Pour la deuxième année consécutive, une rencontre des festivals du Pacifique réunira les organisateurs et programmateurs de festivals de films de la région. Un rendez-vous destiné au partage des découvertes, des expériences et moyens.
