The world has become inundated with plastic, a material that appears so perfect and useful, but…it isn’t 100% biodegradable. After sixty or so years of increasingly popularity, what has happened to the waste? It often ends up in the sea. Midway Atoll and its polluted beaches confirm this. Avian and underwater fauna are the unwitting victims. Hundreds of thousands of tons of rubbish are swept to the middle of the oceans by the currents and form a whole continent of rubbish between two masses of water.
