13th FIFO Live!

A first in the history of FIFO, this year the whole village is being recorded live and streamed enriching the festival. The partnership between the OPT and the Polynesian start-up company TBS5, introducing this new expertise to the local market, will enable the FIFO village to be experienced on a daily basis in situ or through streaming. Thus, the workshops, conferences, interviews with the public and ‘Café FIFO’ will be available on the OPT, FIFO and Polynésie 1ère websites.

This idea of ‘Live Cast’ originated in 2009 when Davidson Bennett, founder of TBS5, began streaming for the surf association ASP. Intrigued by this field, it was improved and in 2014 the first live streaming was launched. Technical skill is alive and kicking in the country, but it isn’t exploitable without a consistent Internet stream, hence the need to partner with the OPT. The team requires no less than 13 people who are mobilised to implement this event!

After providing Hawaiki Nui live in 2014 and other events, it’s FIFO’s turn to be able to provide its regulars with this opportunity to discover the FIFO village live with all its activities and various workshops. Café FIFO is a privileged meeting place for Micaël Taputu, who will interview guests there like Wallès Kotra, Chairman of AFIFO, and other key figures in documentary.

From 2nd to 7th February, FIFO is for everyone whether on site or at home!
