ELOI MACHORO, ITINÉRAIRE D’UN COMBATTANT
New Caledonia, 18th November 1984: Eloi Machoro breaks a ballot box with an axe in Canala town hall. This picture will travel the world. Eloi Machoro has become a symbol of the Kanak fight for independance. He will die a few months later, under the bullets of the GIGN (French gendarmerie special task force). Through his story, the relationships between France and New Caledonia are depicted.
